The John West Tunarama Festival takes place during the Australia Day holidays at the end of January, and is one of the most popular events in South Australia. Port Lincoln is the largest tuna cannery in Australia, and the first annual festival was held in 1962 to help promote the industry. Events include tuna tossing, cooking demonstrations, music, entertainment and fireworks.
